A more toned face in 2 weeks!!! November 1, 2007 This is a good book for quick facial changes. I did all the exercises twice daily and could see my jawline tone and my eyes open and even my nose looked shorter.I then ordered the Facercise DVD to really advance my results. I now use the Auto CD in the kit. I exercise my face while driving my car.
Worthwhile but results will differ from person to person June 28, 2005 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I was initially sceptical after reading some other ott reviews/testimonials for Carole Maggio's Facercise book.
Anyway, this one is aimed solely at men is pretty good BUT there is just too much information (about 100 pages of text)on facial facts, background and diet, and not enough on the key 11 exercises themselves. In fact, the exercises are hard to follow because all you have to look at are a couple of black & white photos for each individual exercise. More useful would have been more intuitive diagrams and colour photos instead. Although I haven't seen it, there is a video version of this book available from the main website (www.facebuiler.com)which will probably be much easier to follow.
Having said all of that, I have followed the program in this book for just over a month now, and whilst I never had a particulary fat or large face, I have definately achieved worthwhile facial tone by performing the exercises once or twice a day. They are not hard exercises to do, best done behind closed doors, but they do about 20 to 30 mins to perform in total. I recommend taking a photo of yourself before you start the programme and then again every month to see if there is any visible difference. This will definately help you focus on doing the exercises regularly and properly if you can see the results yourself.
I'm in my twenties so I couldn't tell you whether this programme can "Take ten years off your face - in just ten minutes a day" as the cover claims. Mostly, it will make you feel better about yourself, perhaps boost your confidence, and give you a healthier appearance if you work at it. If you can afford 20-30 minutes or so a day then give it a go.
I give this book 3 stars. Knocked one star off this review for poor instructional photos and another star for the large volume of 100 or so pages of feathered out info (which could have been better used on the exercises themselves).
